Tło
A high end spice brand in Poland was seeking a strong spice jar manufacturer to help in its expanding retail and own-label business. They talked to Yeboda about designing a set of szklane słoiki na przyprawy with a smooth, curved body, heavy base and a bare metal top.The client chose Yeboda because of three important reasons: the stable glass clarity, the experience of surface protection on large transportation, and the ability to customize the product order to business.

Wyzwania
Surface Scratches in The Course of Transportation
Following the order of trial, the client found that, on the surface of the jars, there were fine scratches on the surface during the pallet stacking and long-distance shipping, which influenced the quality of visuality.
Severe Rate of Rejection upon Quality Inspection
Abrasions of the small scale caused a higher reject rate at the last QC level of the brand, which caused expenditure and time misalignment of delivery time.

Analiza przyczyn
A complete process review of our technical team revealed the essence of the problems: friction of jars in case of vibration transportation and a lack of protection in our typical bulk packaging.
To address this, we optimized the internal handling, investigated annealing consistency and tried several protective solutions in order to reduce glass-to-glass contact.
Rozwiązanie
- State-of-the-art packaging, which includes individual compartment dividers and anti-abrasion liners.
- Pallet stacking height adjusted to minimise pressure points.
- Better inspection criteria on the surface prior to packing.
- Added optional protection covering on high-end orders.
Wyniki
The solution that was optimized decreased incidents of surface scratches by more than 90 and reinstated trust in large scale sourcing of the client. The Polish brand has been able to roll out the new spice jar line on time, to reinforce existing retail relationships and form a long-term relationship with Yeboda as its preferred spice jar factory ally.
