Hintergrund
Yeboda as a professional hot sauce bottle dealer was approached by a Peru based brand of hot sauce that sells chili sauces to the Latin America and U.S. market. The brand was in need of a hot sauce bottle supplier that was dependable and could furnish both tough and export packing systems. They designed short round enabled hot sauce bottles out of high flint glass having a thickened bottom, strengthened shoulder and the ability to use screw caps and tamper evident shrink bands. Our excellent engineering, flexibility in customization and our established experience in export packaging optimization, led the client to opt to do business with Yeboda.
Herausforderungen
Breakage During Transit
There was a high rate of bottle breaking or smashing during long distance ocean transportation hence very expensive losses and delayed product deliveries.
Ineffective Packing Structure
The initial carton design was such that the bottles collided with one another, causing damages to the impacts and lowering the efficiency of the container loading.
Ursachenanalyse
The technical team of Yeboda made drop tests and packaging audits and revealed the main problems:
- Thickness in the glasses was not even resulting in weak points at the shoulder and the base.
- Poor internal partitions were not able to absorb vibration and compressing pressure.
Lösung
Reinforcement of Bottle Structure
We made the distribution of wall thickness optimal, reinforced the area of the heel and enhanced the geometry of the base to make it more impact resistant.
Packing Redesign
Yeboda launched carton dividers that took the shape of honeycomb, corner protectors, and varied carton sizes to reduce movement of bottles.
Ergebnisse
Breakage rates were reduced by more than 70 percent, packing efficiency was increased as well as shipment damage claims were practically nonexistent. The Peru brand had a safer exporting and Yeboda as a reliable long-term partner.
